“I have Proven Myself,” New York Jets WR Denzel Mims makes a STRONG argument for him becoming a starter

Denzel Mims, a wide receiver with the Jets, is still unhappy with his position on the club. Mims, who asked for a trade last week, told reporters on Wednesday that he doesn’t think the coaches will ever start him with the starting.

Mims has been unable to make progress with Robert Saleh‘s coaching staff for the past year, which has left him upset. According to Denzel Mims, “I feel like I already pretty much [proven myself] from OTAs up until now. They are quite adamant about who they want. I consider the fact that I am on the 53-man roster to be somewhat positive. I’m going to keep trying to be the best by doing everything I can.”

The organization had trade requests for Denzel Mims, according to general manager Joe Douglas, but none of them materialized at “the correct value of Denzel’s talent and potential.” According to a source, Douglas was looking to trade Mims for a fourth- or fifth-round selection. No one was prepared to abandon that.

The Jets are now dealing with a player that is dissatisfied. When you don’t get to play with the starters, it might be difficult to demonstrate that you belong among them, according to Mims. In order to get on the field, he said that he is prepared to play on special teams. Mims had seven catches for 102 yards and a score in his greatest preseason performance against the New York Giants on Sunday.
