The Philadelphia Eagles are flying high! The team’s winning streak continues into the postseason as they handed the New York Giants a drubbing that they will remember for a while. In the NFC divisional round, the Giants lost 38-7 to Jalen Hurts and Co. Following the game, Head Coach Nick Sirianni was jubilant and delighted with his quarterback. He went as far as to compare him to one of the greatest athletes and impact makers that the world has ever witnessed.
Nick Sirianni compared Jalen Hurts to the one and only Michael Jordan following his team’s win. “I know this is high praise, but to have him out there is like having… I shouldn’t even go there..it’s like having Michael Jordan out there. He’s your leader. He’s your guy. Hopefully, that’s the biggest respect I can pay him, comparing his ability to be on the field to a Michael Jordan type,” he told reporters.
That is an honor that many athletes can only dream of. To be compared to Jordan is an award in itself, Sirianni added, “This guy leads. He brings this calmness to the entire team. He plays great football. He’s as tough as they come. To me, nobody has played any better football than him this year.” Hurts has had one heck of a season this year and he does deserve props for it.

Jalen Hurts shined in the Philadelphia Eagles matchup against the New York Giants:
Jalen Hurts ended the game with two touchdowns and fought through a sprained sternoclavicular joint in his throwing shoulder. He was mobile throughout the game, running for 34 yards and having rushed for a touchdown. The quarterback confessed before the game that he was “nowhere near 100 percent,” and to add to his woes, he came down with an illness later on in the week.
However, that did not stop him from showing up and performing to the best of his abilities against the Giants. Hurts did not run as much as he usually does and Head Coach Nick Sirianni ensured his QB passed the ball more than rush it. This is not the first time that we have heard praises of Jalen Hurts’ leadership.
Earlier this week, tight end Dallas Goedert had heaped praise on his QB1 when he told what message Hurts had for the team. The QB addressed his squad and had one message for them which was, “I ain’t hungry, I’m starving for this sh*t.” Goedert had this to say about his quarterback, “With everyone in the locker room, he sets the tone for it, and we follow along. Whatever he says goes. He is the leader of this place. He had it in him, so we all follow suit.”
With the first obstacle out of their road to the Super Bowl, the Eagles will now wait to see who their next opponent will be. They will face the winner of the divisional round game between the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers. This Eagles squad is special and they are hungry. It will be exciting to witness how far they can go this postseason, at this point, one cannot completely dismiss them from the Super Bowl conversation either.
