Nick Sirianni ‘not bothered’ about keeping his coaching job following Eagles’ disastrous end to the season

Well, after the disastrous loss that the Philadelphia Eagles suffered in the playoffs, the first person whose job comes into question is the head coach. However, Philly’s head coach isn’t affected by the murmurs about his future in the franchise.
Nick Sirianni, who joined the Eagles in 2021, has coached the team to the playoffs in all of his three seasons. He posted a 34-17 regular-season record in these three years and also brought in 11 consecutive victories– third time seen in the franchise’s history. However, after his team got eliminated from the playoffs after a brutal 32-9 loss, fans called for Sirianni’s head.
In the post-game press conference, coach Sirianni was asked about his job security in the Eagles. He replied:
I'm not thinking about that. I’m thinking about the guys. I'm not worried about me.
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie indeed has a tough decision to make, whether to fire Sirianni from the head coach position or bring him a whole new staff for next season. Considering the Eagles’ performances under Sirianni (except the Monday night playoff loss), Lurie has to make an extremely difficult decision.
And if he moves forward with it, then the Eagles will need a new head coach for the fourth time in 11 years. One of whom Lurie fired just three years after bringing the franchise their first Super Bowl victory.
Given that, it appears the Eagles are more focused on continuity instead of the count of championships. And if that’s the case, the decision to fire Sirianni is definitely swirling in Philly’s owner’s mind. The Eagles lost five out of their six regular season games and also ended up being a no-show in the playoffs.
Nick Sirianni more concerned for his players following the brutal playoff loss
After the brutal loss in the wild-card game where both the offense and defense failed to live up to the expectations, head coach Sirianni was asked whether he was planning to change the offensive and defensive coordinators for the next season.
That’s a little premature to talk through that. We’ll get into all that. I’m not there yet.
Sirianni appears to be more worried about his players instead than him or his coaching staff’s job security. In the postgame press conference, he repeatedly expressed his concerns for the players, who were hurting.
It’s definitely a tough time for the whole franchise, as they went down from Super Bowl to 10-1 to 11-6 and then eliminated from the playoffs. With the wounds still fresh, there haven’t been any updates on Philly’s next step. Perhaps the franchise would make a move after the Super Bowl.
