The Cincinnati Bengals entered this season with high expectations to become the best team in the league. However, the first few games brought nothing but disappointment for the team.
It was because the star quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals suffered a calf injury that caused him to miss the entire training camp. As his plays dictate the worth of the Bengals, the team fell behind this season. Joe Burrow finally picked up the pace as he recovered from his calf injury. And so did the team in Week 5 as they defeated Arizona. Before entering the bye week, they outlasted Seattle at 17-13.

As the quarterback has now all been better, things have finally started getting fortunate for the Bengals, now standing at 5-3 after a triumph against the Bills in Week 9, on Sunday night. With that being said, the sports analyst and host of First Things First, Nick Wright has finally accepted the sorcery of the Bengals’ superstar QB on the field.
From slamming the quarterback for his bizarre performance to calling him the second-best QB in the league, Wright seemed quite impressed with Burrow. As he said:
I've been the only person that can say, for two years, has argued he [Joe Burrow] is the second-best quarterback in football.
Wright highlighted how everyone was referring to Josh Allen as the best quarterback and cheering for him and the Bills, but it was only he who saw how good Burrow was, so Wright considered him as the second-best quarterback. He argued:
Joe Burrow is clearly the 2nd best quarterback in the league. It is not debatable. They are clearly, in my opinion, the 2nd most dangerous team in the AFC, more than the Baltimore.
The Hall of Famer believes in the postseason, the Bengals are the most dangerous as they have been in the AFC titles game with quarterback Burrow’s two healthy years.
Nick Wright retracted his suggestion to bench QB Joe Burrow
While praising the Bengals star quarterback, Wright took back his previous statement of benching Burrow till Week 8 this season. He said:
I said they should shut him down until he got healthy because I thought he wasn't going to get healthy. I was wrong about that.
Burrow suffered a calf injury this year in July, he had to miss the entire training camp. And without him, the Bengals were totally falling apart on the field.

In reference to that, the First Things First host explicitly suggested that the Bengals shouldn’t take a risk and bench the quarterback until he recovers. His statement held high gravity as Burrow is the prime bet for the Bengals. So benching him would have been a risky decision for them.
As they didn’t go with it, Wright was ultimately proven wrong. And the sports analyst admitted his mistake, considering the fact that Burrow had recovered and brought back-to-back wins for his team.
