Midway through the third quarter, when the Green Bay Packers were in the lead at 21-14, the San Francisco 49ers desperately needed a comeback, otherwise, their magical season would have gone down the drain. With so much at stake, the pressure on Brock Purdy had been undeniable, still, he didn’t panic.

Fortunately for him, he had the backing of the team’s best offensive player, running back Christian McCaffrey. He handed over the ball to him, with 1:05 minutes remaining in the game.  McCaffrey then went ahead to succeed with a touchdown on a 6-yard inside run, resulting in the Niners outscoring the Packers led by the young Jordan Love, and winning the game by 24-21.

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw sealed the final deal for San Francisco when he intercepted quarterback Love and advanced his team to the Conference Championship.

However, not everyone seemed that impressed by the 49ers, especially QB Purdy as sports analyst Nick Wright called out those who credited Purdy for the final game-winning drive of the playoffs.

Wright retweeted The Athletic’s post appreciating the Niners’ QB with “It’s a pretty tough night to be a Brock Purdy doubter,” on his X(formerly Twitter) asserting:

Honest to god, if that’s your takeaway from this game I truly question your ability to cogently watch, analyze and discuss football.

Not just that, Wright also retweeted Kevin Wildes’ post calling Purdy’s final drive the best playoff drive, writing:

Was it though?

With this win, Purdy has established his name in the history of the NFL for becoming the eighth QB to win at least three postseason starts in his first two seasons.

Nick Wright brutally trolled by fans for raising doubts about Brock Purdy

As Wright continued to raise doubts about Brock Purdy’s credibility, quarterback’s fans brutally trolled the analyst all over the internet. Fans defend Purdy saying he made the plays when it mattered. They also stated that if Patrick Mahomes had made this drive in the final minute of the game, Wright wouldn’t have stopped praising him.

With fourth-best NFL MVP odds, Purdy has brought his team to the top NFC seed and advanced to the conference championship. That’s why when Wright raised his doubts about the QB, fans didn’t like it at all.
