It’s hard to win a Super Bowl even once in your life. Sometimes an entire generation of fans passes by and fails to see their beloved team lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy once. But to think about winning it back-to-back is next to impossible because of the tough competition. However, in the new era of football, it is not impossible to achieve such a feat. Analyst Nick Wright has faith that Patrick Mahomes can lead the Kansas City Chiefs to a 3-peat.
Wright was on fire in the latest episode of FOX Sports 1’s First Thing First. He is adamant that the Chiefs will pull off the impossible. “Chiefs aren’t going to win it every year,” Wright said, but “they will win it the next two years.”
He continued, “The Chiefs won the Super Bowl in a rebuilding year.” Last season, the Chiefs’ defense made the most snaps (3680) in the NFL and was mostly made up of rookies. Wright argues that they will be a year older and more experienced. Moreover, they have the 12th most space salary cap in 2024, which will allow them to add more quality players.
The Chiefs are in red-hot form after winning the Championship game last season. So it’s natural that fans and analysts like Nick Wright would be tempted to stick with the safest option. But the Chiefs are an exciting prospect with talents all around the field, guided by one of the best coaches, Andy Reid.
Chiefs wide receiver Travis Kelce will look to add more silverware before he retires from football. The 33-year-old will still play until 2026 if he remains injury-free, and with Mahomes by his side, the sky is the limit.

Has the 3-peat ever been achieved in the NFL, or will the Kansas City Chiefs be the first?
A 3-peat, or winning a championship three years in a row, is an extremely rare achievement. There have been several teams that have managed to complete it in other sports in the country. Who can forget Michael Jordan‘s Chicago Bulls? They dominated the NBA in the 1990s, winning three consecutive titles two times in the years 1991 to 1998.
But the question is: has any team ever managed a 3-peat in the NFL? The answer is yes, and that happened way back in the 1960s. The Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl in 1965, 1966, and 1967. It was a great era for the Packers, as Vince Lombardi himself was coaching them. The team was full of legendary players such as Bart Starr, Boyd Dowler, and Paul Hornung.
The Kansas City Chiefs have their work cut out if they want to repeat what the Packers achieved. But Mahomes and co. should take their inspiration from Green Bay and do what even Tom Brady and the New England Patriots could not manage.
