The long-awaited divisional game between the AFC rivals and the international crowd finally came to an end, as the Kansas City Chiefs claimed a thumping win over the Miami Dolphins at 21-14. Though the Andy Reid team had a slow start in the first half, they picked up the pace, thanks to a 95-yard touchdown drive by Patrick Mahomes.

Standing with a record of 7-2, the Chiefs have now gained an early inside track as being the No. 1 seed within its division. The team’s defense came out in a big way on Sunday Night by outplaying the opponent Dolphins.

While talking on the matter, Chiefs’ big fan and sports analyst Nick Wright gave high praise to the Chiefs for their performance against Miami on Sunday, especially their defense. He said:

Wright explained:

There is only one Chiefs team that had better records, that team did not win the Super Bowl. They end up losing in the Super Bowl. I think this Chiefs team, because the offense is at its floor…the offense is only going to get better and it’s the youngest defense in football. And it’s still the number 2 defense in football.

Moving forward, the host of First Things First addressed former football coach and sports analyst Eric Mangini, asking him: “

Take any other all-time great quarterback, any other all-time great quarterback, and give him the top 3 scoring defense…are they going to be the favourites? …Of course, they are.

Although the analyst Wright claims the Chiefs are the “best KC team,” there are facts backing his argument. The current Chiefs team has won two Super Bowls in the past four years, with quarterback Mahomes named the MVP for the second time. They have comprised some of the best players in the league such as tight end Travis Kelce, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, defensive tackle Chris Jones, and safety Tyrann Mathieu.

How the Chiefs’ defense dominated the Dolphins in Germany?

As the Chiefs’ defense was the star at this International game, the Dolphins marked their second-lowest points under coach Mike McDaniels. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa recorded his season-lowest at 61.8 completion, 193 passing yards, and 87.0 passer rating.

Both sides of the AFC division remain scoreless for most of the first half. In halftime, the Chiefs took a lead at 21-0, while the Dolphins scored 14 points in the third quarter aiming to have an exceptional win. However, the Chiefs’ defense took over the opponent’s offense and Tagovailoa, forcing them to retreat backwards in the fourth quarter, three times.

As the Chiefs’ defense couldn’t score any points in the second half, it was their defense that pressured Miami, leading to a high snap on the final drive and crushing the Dolphins’ comeback attempts. And it is because of the Chief’s brilliant defense that brought them standing at 7-2, despite them not scoring above 24 points in the last six games this season.
