The Seattle Seahawks had a great season last year. They lost their franchise quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos and had to start back up QB Geno Smith. He took the team to the playoffs in his first season as a starter. They eventually lost to their division rival the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round but they had a good season and are expected to build on that this year.

The team they lost to, the San Francisco 49ers, won their division last year and had a deep playoff run. They lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game. Going into this season, they are expected to top their division again. Fox Sports analyst, Nick Wright though, has some different views. He sees the Seahawks come out on top in that division.

Wright on his show First Things First picked the Seahawks to win the NFC West division over the 49ers. He went on to explain this saying that Smith led the NFC last year in touchdown passes and he has one of the most underrated receiving cores in the league with Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf and rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He also suggested that the 49ers starting QB Brock Purdy, who was the last pick of the 2022 NFL Draft will regress after a great end to last season.

It will be interesting to see if Wright’s prediction for this division comes true or not. The Seahawks have a great roster and a very capable veteran quarterback. The 49ers, arguably, have the best overall team in this division, but their QB will have to prove himself for an entire season for them to have a shot at winning the division. The Seahawks open their campaign against the Los Angeles Rams whereas the 49ers will play the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 1.

WR Willie Snead had high praise for Brock Purdy comparing him to Drew Brees

Brock Purdy was a revelation last season. After injuries to Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo, Purdy was put in the fire as the QB for the San Francisco 49ers. He went from ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ as the final pick of the draft to start for his team in his rookie season. He not only survived but thrived in HC Kyle Shanahan‘s offense and led the team to the NFC Championship game.

WR Willie Snead had high praise for his quarterback, who was named as this year’s starting QB earlier this month. He likened him to a future Hall of Fame QB in Drew Brees. Snead played with Brees during his time with the New Orleans Saints. “That’s my guy. I love Brock,” Snead told CBS Bay Area reporter Matt Lively. “I remember when I first met him last year, when I first came in, humble kid, work ethic out of this world. He reminds me of a young Drew [Brees]. I tell him that all the time.”

Snead was released by the 49ers on the cut deadline. The 49ers are contenders to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl this season. They came close last season but lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. Purdy will start at quarterback for them and they have a deep roster to make a Super Bowl run. They open their season against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 10 at the Acrisure Stadium.
