The Las Vegas Raiders are going through some hard changes. After the loss against the Detroit Lions, the team management sacked the head coach (HC), general manager, and offensive coordinator. The management issued a statement that said that the team had had golden handshakes with Josh McDaniels (HC), David Ziegler (GM), and Mick Lombardi (OC). The development took place after the team’s disappointing loss against the Detroit Lions.
Owner Mark Davis said in a statement.
After much thought about what the Raiders need to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave. I want to thank them both for their hard work and wish them and their families nothing but the best.
The Raiders became the first team to take this harsh step against their head coach. As things stand right now, the Raiders will go through a complete transition and the analysts will have their eyes on it. It is to be seen how the transition works for them.
Analyst Nick Wright believes that the decision will do good to the team’s structure. In the recent episode of his show, ‘First Things First,’ the expert analyzed the situation for the Raiders and coined Mcdaniels as one of the worst coaches he has ever seen.
The analyst added:
He was one of the worst head coaches ever. It is undeniable. Let's go over the resume. Zero winning season. He did a mini spy game back in Denver that people forgot about. Treating people terribly. Say I can turn any high-school quarterback into an All-Pro. Wanted to get rid of Jay Cowler when Jay Cowler came out of his best season.
Nick Wright does not have any strong feelings for the head coach. But was Daniels that bad?
Who is Josh McDaniels?
Josh McDaniels does not share a good coaching history. But as an offensive coordinator, he has a good amount of success. The former HC of the Raiders was associated with the New England Patriots as an OC and helped his team win three Super Bowls.
However, as a head coach, his records are poor. He was fired in the middle of the season by the Denver Broncos. He was in charge in the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
The NFL 2023-24 season was his second with the Raiders. He was hired ahead of last season and failed to produce something good for the Raiders. His records were poor. Last season, the Raiders were 6-11. This season, they are down by 3-5. The Raiders had an initial contract of six years. However, his poor stats compelled him to lose his job.
