NFL analysts are known to criticize or hype players or teams based on their performances. Sometimes the spectators agree with them and appreciate their analysis, while sometimes things go in other directions. The latter happened with Nick Wright, who compared Geno Smith with Brock Purdy, and the crowd did not take that well. They vehemently criticized Wright for his unnecessary opinions on the two players. 

From his famous show, ‘First Things First,’ the analyst said, “The Niners have a more talented roster but I believe Geno more than Purdy. The touchdown pass here is as impressive as Purdy made anything in his entire career.”

He further added, “And so, do I think that at some point, the Niners are going to need Purdy to make plays? Top plays? I do. I am more confident in Geno can than Purdy can. Now Geno can make mistakes that Purdy won’t. We will see. But, sometimes those dropped interceptions from Purdy can be caught interceptions. I have more trust in Geno that I have in Purdy.”

The stunning remark boiled the blood of the people who call themselves ardent Purdy lovers. Purdy’s speedy growth in the last two years caught a lot of attention. He also started this season in a pretty decent style, and with his help, the 49ers have won all four of their matches.

They are still unbeaten in the campaign. However, on the other hand, the Seahawks had a decent game against the New York Giants, as they achieved a mammoth victory by a margin of 25-3. Geno did not provide a masterclass, but he was efficient. His moments in the league grabbed the attention of the analysts.
