Nick Wright throws major SHADE at Aaron Rodgers’ calculated moves to dodge interceptions which could backfire on Jets
Aaron Rodgers is known for his low TD-INT ratio as a result of his conservative approach to the game.

The New York Jets, under their franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers, are looking to win the Super Bowl in the upcoming season. The Jets have one of the strongest rosters in the league, both offensively and defensively. Rodgers will provide the much-needed stability at the quarterback position. The Jets’ success majorly depends on the veteran QB. However, Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright believes Rodgers’ conservative approach could be a detriment to himself and the Jets.
“I would argue that Aaron’s allergy to interceptions has actually been a slight detriment,” the analyst said during a recent episode of his show, What’s Wright? With Nick Wright. “There are times where interception is literally the worst thing a quarterback can do. There are also times where risk is worth the reward for what a big play can do to your team.”
Wright then went on to explain how great quarterbacks like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Joe Montana all have thrown many interceptions during their career. And now, he wants Rodgers to take more risks than normal even if it ends in the 10-time Pro Bowl QB throwing more interceptions than he usually does.
“I think the allergy to throwing picks can be good if you’re getting on the Josh Allen reckless scale. For Aaron this year, I think a few more picks than his normal might not be a bad thing,” said Wright.
Rodgers has only thrown 105 interceptions in his long career so far and has the lowest interception percentage (1.37%) in the league’s history. He has only thrown double-digit interceptions three times in his 15 years as the Green Bay Packers‘ starting quarterback.
Aaron Rodgers set to make his Jets debut this weekend
The New York Jets’ new franchise leader Aaron Rodgers is set to make his Jets debut this weekend during their 4th and final preseason game against the New York Giants this weekend.
Rodgers is expected to get some playing minutes in front of the MetLife crowd according to multiple reports. The 4-time league MVP has been impressive in the training camp so far with his new teammates.
He is looking to regain his old MVP form following an average season with the Packers in 2022. The Jets have made some great additions in the 2023 off-season and will be looking to dethrone the defending AFC East champions Buffalo Bills. The dual-threat QB Josh Allen and the Bills have won that division for the last 3 years, but now the division has gotten a lot tougher with Rodgers’ arrival.
