The Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes recently clapped back at the Cincinnati Bengals Ja’Marr Chase for disrespecting him with an unnecessary ‘Pat Who’ comment. Chase took a shot at Mahomes while crowning his teammate Joe Burrow as the best QB in the league. Mahomes firing back at Chase became a talking point in the football community and the Chiefs’ long-time fan Nick Wright strongly supports his quarterback’s actions.
“He’s [Patrick Mahomes] the best player in the league. And I am not speaking for him here, but I feel like this is fair to say,” said Nick Wright in a recent episode of the Fox Sports show First Things First. “He wants the Super Bowls and the rings and all of it. He wants the MVPs, he wants the unabashed respect.”
Furthermore, Wright believes Ja’Marr Chase’s comments would be great bulletin-board material for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs for the upcoming season.
On Wednesday, during the Bengals‘ mandatory minicamp, Chase addressed the media and was asked who is currently the best player in the league. The Pro Bowl receiver had an answer ready to go for that question. “Joe Burrow,” Chase said. “Everybody knows that. That’s easy. MVP.”
Additionally, when a reporter told Chase that Joe Burrow picked Mahomes as the best QB in the league, the pass-catcher replied,“Who said Pat? Pat who?” Chase’s comments caused a stir on social media and many people shared their opinion. Nonetheless, Mahomes heard the chatter and seemingly replied to Chase by posting a picture of him showing off his two Super Bowl rings with the caption, “That’s Who” with two ring emojis.

Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes rivalry will be fun to watch
The 2-time league MVP Patrick Mahomes is undeniably the best quarterback in the league right now. However, Joe Burrow is a close second behind the Chiefs QB. Burrow has been in the league for 3 years and has been to two straight AFC Championship games.
Furthermore, when it comes to head-to-head competitions, Burrow has the edge over Mahomes. The Bengals’ Pro Bowl QB has a solid 3-1 record against the Mahomes-led Chiefs.
Both young quarterbacks have a bright future ahead of them and will have many more great duels down the road. For now, Mahomes has the headstart over Burrow when it comes to accomplishments in the league, but the Bengals QB could catch up to him quickly.
In the upcoming season, the Chiefs will take on the Bengals in a week 17 matchup and could potentially face each other in a playoff game. Those games would be must-see television since there will be no shortage of action and drama.
