Nick Wright undermined the Buffalo Bills 20-17 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in controversial circumstances. According to the self-proclaimed Patrick Mahomes admirer, Josh Allen and the Bills were close to another ‘epic collapse.’

Sunday night saw the officials make a steadfast offside call against Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney, which ended in a touchdown via a lateral from Travis Kelce. Patrick Mahomes was visually upset and frustrated on the sidelines because of the decision, which he believed to have robbed them of their ninth win of the season.

The Chiefs were playing catch-up to the Bills the entire game, and Toney TD would have given the lead for the first time in the tie. Buffalo won the game with a 39-yard Tyler Bass field goal after the 2-minute warning. Wright claimed the Bills win did little in the grand scheme of things, especially in the AFC playoff picture.

I appreciate the fact that the bills are not officially eliminated. They have moved all the way from 11th place in the AFC, which is a really rough spot, and this afternoon they were in 11th place.
Wright said in Monday’s segment of FOX Sports 1’s First Things First.

Mahomes was furious after the result. The camera caught him shouting at the referee for the offside call. It required several Chiefs players to move him away from the area. In the post-match press conference, the reigning NFL MVP claimed it robbed football of a great play from Travis Kelce.

Wright, on the other hand, believes it took away the momentum from the Kansas City Chiefs. If they were close to overtaking the bills on the night, which never happened.

“Patrick said it robbed us of a Travis Kelce Hall of Fame highlight reel. But what I was thinking was that it also robbed us of an epic Bills collapse,” Wright argued.

Social media fired back at Nick Wright for undermining the Buffalo Bills’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs

Wright’s assessment of the Buffalo Bills win has not been taken kindly by social media. More so after the analyst poked fun at the New York franchise for their poor history of reaching four Super Bowls and losing every single one of them.

Since Josh Allen became their quarterback in 2018, that hope has been renewed. The Bills have managed to win two divisional championships but lost both of them (one against the Chiefs). Meanwhile, they have won the last three games at Arrowhead

Wright, to mock the Bills fandom, enshrined a flag that read “3-Time Super Bowl Champions” in big fonts and “Regular season games at Arrowhead.” Terming that the Bills regard winning in Kansas as their Super Bowl wins.

Sharing a wide spectrum of reactions online, here’s what fans have to say:

The Bills’ loss means that the Chiefs are now 8-5 for the season and have lost one extra game compared to 2022. Mahomes and Co. are currently the third seed in the AFC playoff picture and will play the New England Patriots on week 15.
