Patrick Mahomes is a generational talent. The kind of player that changes a team’s fortune for a lot of years to come. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017 and since then, he has won two Super Bowls and two league MVPs and is widely considered the best player in the NFL at the moment. It took Tom Brady, the greatest QB of all time, 13 years to win 2 league MVPs and 2 Super Bowl MVPs. Mahomes did that in his first five seasons.
Mahomes’ early success has generated a lot of comparisons between him and Brady. There are suggestions that Mahomes might end up surpassing Brady as the greatest quarterback of all time when it’s all said and done. Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright believes that Mahomes is on pace to win more than Brady. The former New England Patriots QB finished his career as the winningest QB of all time and for Mahomes to surpass that, he will have to win a lot in his career.
This right now would be the first time in Patrick's career he has had a top six scoring defense. Brady had it ten times. Nine times in New England and once in Tampa Bay. Then the question is, 'is he going to win enough?' He is on pace to win a little bit more."Nick Wright on his show, First Things First
Mahomes has had a better start to his career despite Brady winning three Super Bowls in his three years. However, it will all depend on how Mahomes finishes his career.
Mahomes and the Chiefs are looking to defend their Super Bowl title this season. The star QB had a terrific 2022 season winning his second Super Bowl and league MVP. If he continues to win at this pace, there might be a new GOAT by the time Mahomes hangs up his boots.
Fans slam Wright for saying that Patrick Mahomes will win a ‘little more’ than Tom Brady
Patrick Mahomes is on pace to win a ‘little more’ than Tom Brady, according to Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright. Mahomes, so far in his career, has won two Super Bowls and two league MVPs. He has been to the Championship game every year since becoming the Chiefs’ starting QB. Brady on the other hand ended his 23-year NFL career as the winningest QB of all time.
Fans on social media have made their feeling known about Wright’s comments. They have slammed the analyst for comparing the two QBs as some people feel that ‘nobody’ will catch Brady and his seven Super Bowl rings. Here are some of the reactions to the comments.
Mahomes and the Chiefs started this season with a loss to the Detroit Lions. Since then, however, they have won six games in a row and Mahomes has been playing well throughout the season. He will have to continue his elite play for many years to catch Brady. Can’t put anything beyond Mahomes Magic though.
