The National Football League does not return for a couple of months still, but that has never stopped people from making early offseason predictions. Popular NFL analyst, Nick Wright continued the tradition by making a shocking prediction about Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys winning the NFC Championship in 2023/24.

Prescott has been at the heart of the discussion surrounding the Cowboys ever since their 19-12 defeat against the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional playoffs round last season. The 29-year-old had an awful season personally last year, but despite that Nick Wright believes the Cowboys might be the team to clinch the championship ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles and the 49ers who are much stronger contenders.

Nick Wright’s net worth is around $2 million and he acknowledged that he will immediately regret backing the Cowboys, but also explained logically why the prediction might eventually come true. Speaking about the 49ers, he highlighted that they have quarterback issues of their own as Brock Purdy races against time to be fit for the season.

Nick Wright was hesitant in backing the Seattle Seahawks from the NFC West or the Minnesota Vikings from the NFC North division as potential contenders for the NFC Championship title. Wright does not believe in their quarterbacks, Geno Smith and Kirk Cousins respectively to bring that sort of a season. Wright absolutely admonished the NFC South division as a whole which only leaves out the Eagles and the 49ers as possible candidates for next season, in what would be a repeat of the NFC Championship game from 2023.

“If the Eagles aren’t there, and the Niners quarterback situation is in flux as anyone, who the f*ck is winning the NFC? You just go through it. I’m gonna instantly regret it and hate myself for it but I think I might believe in the Cowboys this year,” Wright started off on the subject of the NFC Championship.

“NFC West, the Cardinals are not trying. The Rams I think they’re gonna be terrible. They’re not a Super Bowl team. The Seahawks, are we gonna get that from Geno again? And there’s the Niners like we said. No one in the NFC South… The NFC North, is it Kirk Cousins? Is it Jared Goff? We’re gonna put Jared Goff there? And then we’re to the NFC East. If it’s not, maybe that means it’ll be the Niners and the Eagles again but it’s usually not that chalky… so I don’t know.”

Dak Prescott needs to improve immensely as a play caller if the Cowboys are to make it deep into the playoffs this season. For the 29-year-old it will also be about replying the faith that Jerry Jones and Mike McCarthy are showing in him despite his career-high 15 INT season last year.
