“Only option is play for XFL” – No team reportedly interested in shopping Zach Wilson despite Jets’ constant attempts to trade the QB; fans react
The way things are going, the Jets might keep Wilson for one more season.

The NFL March Madness is at its peak. Since the NFL free agency became active on March 13, several quarterbacks have made significant moves to potentially secure game-time next season. Except for Zach Wilson.
Several outlets have confirmed that the New York Jets are trying their best to find a trade partner for Wilson. However, so far, there isn’t any sign that any team wants to take the 2021 second-overall pick out of the Jets’ hands.

ESPN‘s Rich Cimini reported that the trade market hasn’t been kind to Wilson.

That doesn’t come as a surprise. Unlike Mac Jones, who went to the Jacksonville Jaguars, had gone to the Pro Bowl during his rookie year, and Justin Fields, who became a Steeler, has shown improvements, racking up 6,674 yards and running for 2,220 in his NFL career, Wilson doesn’t have that leverage.

Since entering the NFL, the BYU graduate has managed 6,293 yards on a 57% completion rate, throwing more picks compared to touchdowns (25-23). Whereas the Patriots received a sixth-rounder and the Bears got a conditional six-rounder, which can be upgraded to fourth, the Jets can’t put the same deal on the table to entice other teams.

Furthermore, Zach Wilson will be entering the final year of his rookie contract with the Jets. If the Jets opt to activate his fifth-year option, then he would pocket nearly $22.4 million in 2025. However, the last campaign has raised several more questions.
On top of not being a good starter, the 2023 season borderline proved Wilson isn’t a great backup as well. After Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles, the Jets decided to start Wilson, but he did not live up to the expectations. Few even pointed out that if the general manager, Joe Douglas, had approached a veteran QB (someone like Joe Flacco), that would have been a better option.
