O.J. Simpson is currently regarded as one of the most controversial NFL players in it’s entire history. This has happened due to the infamous lawsuit against him for the murder of her ex-girlfriend.
However, before that, Simpson was regarded as one of the best RBs of all time and easily the best of his time. His fame was ever-increasing and his time with the Buffalo Bills cemented himself as one of the greatest players.
The controversial RB was even inducted to the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame because of his achievements. However, those soon were outshined by his controversies off the field.
Still, Simpson made many fans during his time and one went overboard. Artist Andy Warhol made a portrait of O.J. and it was stunning yet beautiful. The portrait was part of Warhol’s athlete series which also included the Boxing legend Muhammad Ali. The painting was kept with Simpson for a long time.
However, now it is set to go for an auction and the reported price is unbelievable. The painting is expected to fetch around $500,000 when it will be put up for auction at the Contemporary Art Day Sale at Phlips. It will be part of the 20th century collection and the auction will be held later this month.

He also led the league in rushing yards for four times in his career and led the league in touchdowns twice in his career. These records cemented him as one of the greatest RBs of all time. People used to look upto the former MVP for his style and game.
It was at that time, Andy Warhol took notice of O.J. Simpson and included him into his athletes series. In the painting, Simpson is seen holding a ball in his hand, the painting is also signed by O.J.
Simpson’s prime and the prowess he held before the controversies is held in that painting. Many will be willing to pay massive amounts to capture that side of O.J. Simpson which was once one of the biggest names in the league.
