Odell Beckham Jr.‘s first season with the Baltimore Ravens hasn’t been what the veteran anticipated at all. Although the Ravens have the best defense in the league and offense with 69 points in the last two games, without Beckham’s contribution. Moving forward with a 6-2, wide receiver Beckham aims to focus on the team’s goal, rather than his personal.
After a 31-24 win against the Arizona Cardinals, for the second time in his career, Beckham was held without a catch. Now as the team is tied atop the AFC running, the wide receiver said:
I didn't come here with the expectation that I'd be going for 2,000 yards.
He added further:
We're trying to win a Super Bowl, so it is what it is, at this point. Just walking the fine line of being grateful for being back on the field but definitely not being content with how I am in terms of what's going on.
The three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver signed a one-year contract with the Ravens worth $15 million, earlier this year in April. As he couldn’t play last season due to his second ACL surgery, he was excited about this season with high expectations. However, so far, it’s been quite rough for him. Beckham has recorded a career-low average of 27 receiving yards per game this season, which is even below his last average of 76.7 yards from 2014 to 2021. With Baltimore, he is tied for fifth with 14 catches for 162 yards, with zero touchdowns.
Odell Beckham Jr. vents his anger on the field for no catches, no touchdowns
During the game against the Cardinals, Beckham drew a second pass interference penalty. After being frustrated with that and his form this season, the Ravens wide receiver blurted out on the field by throwing his helmet angrily at the sideline ground.

Since he last won a Super Bowl ring with the Los Angeles Rams in February 2022, Beckham hasn’t scored a touchdown. Even the quarterback Lamar Jackson has spoken about this and made his effort to land the WR a touchdown, saying:
He's going to get on the scoreboard.
For that matter, Beckham said:
It's like surfing. Some waves, you crash. Some waves, you ride all the way in. You just got to get back up on the board and continue to do that. Stay resilient.
In his eight-year football career, the only other time that Beckham failed to make a catch was in 2020 when he got injured in his left knee. And now this season, he ranks third in target in his team, but in the NFL he ranks 82nd in yards gained per route.
