Among the NFL community, Odell Beckham Jr, the former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver, shares a tumultuous place. Of course, some people adore him for his legacy, while some find him overrated. Over the years, the affection and disgrace both have increased in numbers for the Super Bowl-winning WR.

There is a popular notion prevalent among the people who dislike OBJ that the sole point of the latter’s career is that one historic catch that he took nearly ten years back (week 12 game of the 2014 season, New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys). Now, after spending so much time in the league as a professional first-choice WR, OBJ has hit back at his critics making the same argument.

Sharing a post that defended OBJ from these criticisms, the WR said that he is tired of the people having such blatant takes on the internet.

Period…. But that’s the world we live in. Create the agenda get followers to follow that and have ppl just say the same thing that they see on the internet. One thing I’ve learned is life is all about situations, and not every situation is for everybody. Since then I been doin what I could to the best of the situation I was in, so chillin I kno im straight in Real Life.

The post that he shared on X, highlighted how the WR registered more than 4,000 yards in the first three seasons. In addition, he received 35 TDs averaging 12 in a single season. In his rookie season, the WR had totaled 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games. Fair to say, OBJ’s reputation wasn’t just because of ‘that’ catch alone.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s career was marred with injuries

If one thing has given OBJ the most trouble, then that is his relation with injuries. The WR was in fantastic form and won the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams. While he won the Lombardi trophy, a knee injury in the Super Bowl game made his life difficult. The WR then failed to come back to the gridiron for an entire year. Ahead of the 2023-24 season, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

Though he made a comeback in the Ravens colors and registered 100 yards in a game after a long time, his form was not at the level it used to be. With the growing age and the problem of injuries, he seemed to become a shadow of his past. Fans got frustrated and expressed their dissatisfaction.

It didn’t come across as a surprise to football fans when OBJ announced his departure from the Ravens. It is to be seen whether he gets a different team in the coming season or the football lovers have already witnessed the last of him post his underwhelming 2023-24 season numbers.
