Odell Beckham Jr. played his last snap during Super Bowl LVI as part of the LA Rams who defeated the Bengals. OBJ suffered an ACL injury and has been a free agent for the entire 2022 season and is still looking for a team.
On Wednesday night, the star wideout stepped out for the Lakers vs Clippers game in downtown Los Angeles. By the looks of it, Beckham was probably the biggest star at Crypto.com Arena leaving behind LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard.
Odell Beckham Jr. was swamped by a wave of fans as he was entering the arena. Fans went crazy as they spotted him and covered him from all sides to get selfies and autographs from him. OBJ happily obliged and clicked pictures with his fans.
Some Los Angeles fans tried to recruit him to the Raiders. Multiple people shouted out that he should join the Raiders for the 2023 season. All Beckham could do was smile at the suggestion as he made his way into the arena.
The Ravens offered a contract to Odell Beckham Jr.
The Jets and probably the Rams are said to be in the race for signing Odell Beckham Jr. A few days back, it was reported that the Ravens have offered a contract to Beckham and would love for him to play in Baltimore.
However, there are a lot of issues with that contract. If OBJ signs with the Ravens, then Lamar Jackson might get offended as the team was willing to sign a free agent but couldn’t pay him the money and simply sit out the season. In this scenario, Beckham would be in trouble because he came there to catch passes from the 2019 NFL MVP and not from a backup quarterback.
The Raiders already have a strong offense with Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, and Jakobi Meyers. They honestly don’t need to add another receiver to this corps, as too many cooks spoil the broth. The Jets also have the same situation as they have already signed Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman in the offseason.
Additionally, Beckham’s asking price is around $15 million a year, and teams are worried given his injuries over the years. While Beckham has been one of the best receivers in the league, some analysts believe that the same can’t be said now because he has been away from football for a year.
Let’s see which team signs Odell Beckham Jr. because everyone in the league has been waiting since the start of free agency to see the wide receiver finally find a new home!
