Odell Beckham Jr. claims the Rams would’ve ‘blown’ Joe Burrow’s Bengals in the Super Bowl if he was healthy
OBJ believes the Rams would have won by a bigger margin if he had played the entire Super Bowl LVI.

Things got off to a good start for Odell Beckham Jr. in Super Bowl LVI, as he caught two passes for 52 yards and scored a touchdown before leaving in the second quarter due to a torn ACL. Since then, almost 18 months have passed, and the WR claims the situation would be different if he had played the entire match against the Cincinnati Bengals.
“People have no idea what I was actually gonna do that day,” he told Peter King of Pro Football Talk. “It was going to be the day when I catch 15 balls, maybe 250 yards. The game plan was we would’ve beat ’em 42-17.”
However, the Los Angeles Rams won the game 23-20. Instead of OBJ, receiver Cooper Kupp bagged home the MVP award for catching eight passes for 92 yards and scoring the winning touchdown.
That was the last time everyone saw Odell Beckham Jr. in the NFL. Since then, the three-time Pro Bowler has undergone multiple surgeries. He is preparing to start for the Baltimore Ravens, for whom he signed in April.
It would have been a record if Beckham had managed to run 250 yards in the final. The current record was set by Jerry Rice (215 yards), also against the Cincinnati Bengals. Beckham is looking for a similar impact in Baltimore. He wants to continue the Ravens’ tradition of reaching the playoffs for the last few years.
Odell Beckham Jr. has a career full of ifs and buts
OBJ may have won the Super Bowl once, but who knows? He could have had more. His injuries limited his playing time. Beckham Jr. exploded on the scene with back-to-back 1300+ receiving yards in his first three seasons for the New York Giants. Now 30 years old, he laments replicating his earlier days.
“If I could go back, would I like to have the first three years of my career repeated? Yeah, of course,” he admitted. “I wish I could’ve never been injured [or] shattered my ankle. But those are things I have to live with.”
Despite all that, Odell Beckham Jr. is ready for the upcoming season. “There’s still some dust on that ’76 Mustang, but the car runs beautifully,” he told Peter King. “I’m happy to be healthy and playing football.” (H/T: NBC Sports)
The Baltimore Ravens begin their 2023 season against the Houston Texans on September 10. However, Odell Beckham Jr. will look forward to facing the Bengals the week after, on September 27. Will Joe Burrow be playing is another question that is lingering in football fans’ minds.
