The Baltimore Ravens are all set for the 2023 season with Lamar Jackson back in the fold along with the addition of superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. However, both these stars are seemingly missing from the team’s Organized Team Activities (OTAs) but OBJ has a response ready for all the people doubting their perp for the coming season.
OBJ said in a conversation with Fox News Digital, “I think the excitement when I signed with Baltimore, me not being there – we have to get to the place where we understand that all that stuff (OTAs) is voluntary, and each individual has their own lives and we don’t know what’s going on with the individual and their life.”
Odell Beckham Jr’s net worth is around $50 million and he is still recovering from the ACL injury he suffered in Super Bowl LVI as a Los Angeles Rams. For the majority of his career, OBJ has had injuries, and this is the reason why he is taking things slow and not risking aggravating his injury. Most people feel that OBJ should in fact be a part of the OTAs so that he can build the chemistry with his quarterback, Lamar Jackson.
The 30-year-old wide receiver said that he and Jackson will build trust and connection when they step onto the gridiron during games. He added that he has always been the kind of player who wants his quarterback to tell him what to do, be it a rookie as well. He will get it done and be wherever his quarterback wants and take their relationship forward from that point on. OBJ is an experienced wideout, so there won’t be any issues for him connecting with Jackson on the field.

Odell Beckham Jr. wants to play the entire season for the Ravens
OBJ knows that the Ravens have signed him on to play every game of the regular season and that is the main reason why he is avoiding over-exerting himself by attending OTAs. The former first-round pick said that he has seen players go all out in OTAs and be healthy as they enter the season, but after a week or two, they feel burned out and he doesn’t want that to happen.
The 3x Pro Bowler continued, “It’s about peaking at the right time. There’s no other way for me to put it. I’m on that slow incline to where, come Sept. 10 or whatever that date is, that’s when I’ll be ready. [I’m] not ready to play in a game right now and that’s OK.”
Odell Beckham Jr. wants to prove to himself who he is and not to anybody else. He still has a lot of football left in him, but he’s not so sure about the future and wants to deliver his career-best performance in 2023.
