Odell Beckham Jr takes a shot at New York Giants for trading Kadarius Toney after his record-breaking performance in Super Bowl LVII
Odell Beckham Jr has taken a sly dig at the New York Giants for trading Kadarius Toney.
Kadarius Toney and Odell Beckham Jr
Former New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr has taken yet another shot at the New York Giants management this time by mocking them for having receiver Kadarius Toney who recently won the Super Bowl LVII with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Odell Beckham Jr tweeted – “And they traded him….. ?? I just feel like life is ALLLL about situations.” Kadarius Toney too seemed to take fun in it as he replied to the tweet with laughing emoticons! Kadarius Toney was picked up by the New York Giants in the 2021 NFL Draft but hardly got any playing time. It would seem Odell Beckham Jr is trying to mock the Giants who traded him in 2019 and later on he would win the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams.
He was out of action due to a hamstring injury and in the end the New York Giants decided to trade him off to the Chiefs with the decision taken by Daboll and Giants general manager Joe Schoen. And for now it looks like it was definitely the wrong decision since Toney has proved his worth with Patrick Mahomes and Co.
Kadarius Toney puts in massive shift at Super Bowl LVII to make Giants question trading him
Kadarius Toney was absolutely immense throughout the Super Bowl LVII and rewrote history books with the longest punt return in NFL history. When the Kansas City Chiefs were holding onto a slender one point lead early on in the fourth quarter, Kadarius Toney fielded a punt and made a 65-yarf return which was the longest in Super Bowl history.
It was a moment of individual brilliance which boosted the Kansas City Chiefs. Along with that, he also caught a five-yard touchdown pass on Sunday.
Speaking on the record breaking punt return, Toney said he got some help from Philadelphia Eagles punter Arryn Siposs. He knew he had to make advantage of the ‘ugly punt’ as Siposs had kicked it exactly where he would have wanted it.
“He just gave us an ugly punt and I just had to go out there and make a play,” Toney said. “I was just making a play. It was the right return, I went the way I was supposed to return. He kicked the ball over where we wanted it,” Toney said.
For Kadarius Toney the Super Bowl was the biggest game of his life. “It is the biggest game of my life,” Kadarius Toney said. “It was, for real.”
