Odell Beckham Jr.’s comeback to the 2022 season comes to a halt after WR gets snubbed by the Dallas Cowboys

Odell Beckham Jr.
The Odell Beckham Jr. hype train may have to wait a bit longer before it can leave the platform. The talented Pro Bowl wideout who was en route to having a stellar game for the Los Angeles Rams in this year’s Super Bowl ended up suffering a terrible ACL tear that kept him out for nearly 9 months now.
Odell Beckham Jr. was expected to make his return to the NFL field later this month. The wideout and his reps have had nothing but positive news when it comes to his progress and recovery. He was cleared by the doctor who conducted the surgery on his ACL to take part in physical activities, this step was viewed as a good sign by teams interested to sign him.
Of the multiple teams that expressed interest in Odell Beckham Jr., the Dallas Cowboys were considered being front runners as the wideout was really looking forward to playing on the team, and owner Jerry Jones publicly swooned over the Pro Bowl wideout who is one of the most talented across the entire NFL.
However, after a detailed evaluation of the wideout, the Cowboys arrived at the conclusion that OBJ is not yet ready to actively play this season. He may end up being out until the start of the 2023 season. The Buffalo Bills were another team who did express some interest to sign him initially but have not signed him.
Odell Beckham Jr. hopes his trade value will improve if he signs with a team during free agency:

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler now reports that after his disappointing tryouts with the Cowboys, Odell Beckham Jr. is now considering testing the waters during NFL free agency. OBJ’s initial plan was to sign with a team and play out the remainder of the 2022 season, however, he is now inclined to sit the remainder of the season out.
Here’s what Fowler had to say, “NFL teams believe OBJ is leaning toward sitting out the entire 2022 regular season and postseason and signing with his new team at the start of free agency in March…Executives whose teams have done their homework on Beckham expect him to wait because as one put it, ‘he’ll be the prize’ of the free agent receiver class.
The analyst points out some teams that would be interested to sign OBJ if he were to be available during free agency. The Kansas City Chiefs, the Dallas Cowboys, and Buffalo Bills are the prominent ones that could seriously consider signing him, provided he is healthy.
After the Cowboys were not satisfied with OBJ’s physical, the team signed TY Hilton to a deal worth $1.5 million for the remainder of this season. The Buffalo Bills were able to get Cole Beasley, the wideout who announced his retirement earlier in this season, to come back and play for them. With this, the OBJ saga takes a pause. For now, the wideout will commit long-term to a team when free agency arrives.
