The college football playoffs have started, and the Rose Bowl took place on Monday between the Michigan Wolverines and the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Wolverines came into the game with a perfect record of 13-0 and were the first seed.

Alabama, on the other hand, sneaked in at the fifth seed with a record of 12-1. Michigan’s unbeaten season was especially impressive because of the off-field issues surrounding their HC, Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh was banned for the team’s final three regular-season games for Michigan’s sign-stealing scandal. However, that did not hamper the team, as they won all three games under interim HC Sherrone Moore. The former San Francisco 49ers HC was on the sidelines during the Rose Bowl and led his team to a 27-20 victory.

It wasn’t an easy victory, though, for the Wolverines. They were made to toil hard for it. Harbaugh experienced all the emotions during the game. Early in the fourth quarter, Alabama scored a rushing touchdown from Michigan’s 3-yard line.

That touchdown gave the Crimson Tide a 16-13 lead. After the TD, the cameras panned toward the Michigan sideline to reveal an angry Harbaugh. Michigan, though, managed to pull off an overtime win on Monday.

The Wolverines head coach has had a difficult season. However, his team has been playing some wonderful football and is just one win away from winning the National Championship this season. They will play the Washington Huskies next Monday in the title game.

Jim Harbaugh calls J.J. McCarthy the ‘greatest QB’ in Michigan history after Rose Bowl success

The Michigan Wolverines won their 14th game of the season against the Alabama Crimson Tide at the Rose Bowl. Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh and the team’s QB J.J. McCarthy led the Wolverines to a 27-20 win in overtime on Monday. Harbaugh had high praise for his quarterback after the game.

I've said it before, but right here, this is the greatest quarterback in University of Michigan—college football history. Got a long way to go to get to get where Tom Brady eventually got to, which is the GOAT. But in a college career there's been nobody at Michigan better than JJ. He is that guy.
Harbaugh said after the game

McCarthy finished the game with 221 yards and 3 touchdowns while completing 17 of his 27 pass attempts. He made some great plays down the stretch and helped his team win the game.

He entered Monday’s game having completed 74.2 percent of his passes for 2,630 yards and 19 touchdowns against four interceptions in 13 games.
