Jalen Carter is projected to be the first defensive tackle to be taken off the board in the upcoming NFL Draft, but his draft stock keeps plummeting due to the legal troubles he has faced in the past few months.

The well-renowned NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay once received massive backlash for saying that the former Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Jalen Carter has some character issues which could be a concern for the team that drafts him. However, in hindsight, it looks like the long-term draft analyst might’ve known about the legal troubles before it became public.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Carter was slammed with an arrest warrant for reckless driving and racing, which led to the fatal car crash that resulted in the death of a Georgia student and a recruiting assistant Chandler LeCroy. According to police reports, the vehicles driven by Carter and LeCroy were switching lanes and going up at high speed, which led to the fatal crash.

Besides, Carter initially mislead the police about his involvement in the crash. In the end, the defensive lineman turned himself into Clark County Jail and was released after a short time.

“It is my intention to return to Athens to answer the misdemeanor charges against me and to make certain that the complete and accurate truth is presented, there is no question in my mind that when all of the facts are known that I will be fully exonerated of any criminal wrongdoing,” Carter wrote in a statement before he turned himself in.

And now, with less than 50 days left for the NFL Draft, an old police body cam footage has emerged. In the footage, the cop is issuing a warning to the 6’3″ defensive tackle after he was stopped for driving at 89 mph speed in a 45 mph zone.

This police stop footage stems from an incident that happened on September 22, almost four months before the tragic incident that resulted in the death of two of his friends. Check out the video below.

The police officer issued Jalen Carter a warning and told him that he wasn’t going to arrest Carter since he didn’t want to make big news out of it. But now the old video just adds more credibility to Todd McShay’s claims about the Georgia prospect’s character issues and teams will certainly think a lot about using a first-round draft pick on him.
