After losing his father at the young age of 15 years, Orlando Brown Jr. did more than carry his name and legacy in the NFL. Given, that the former NFL player and Brown’s father died due to the complications of diabetic ketoacidosis, the offensive tackle found a way to honor him by advocating for diabetes research.
A source close to People Magazine said, that when Brown was just nine years old, his younger brother got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and since then, the OT has grown up taking care of him. But despite such traumatic experiences at such a young age, Brown didn’t lose hope instead, it turned those into “fuel” and began dedicating his off-field life to those suffering from type 1 diabetes.
The Cincinnati Bengals offensive player comes from a long line of type 1 diabetic genes and has dealt with many losses in his life.
