Aaron Rodgers’ will he or won’t he stay in Green Bay drama is still playing out and is in its last scene right now.

The Packers quarterback underwent a four days darkness retreat to contemplate his future in the NFL, whether he will play or not in 2023. Rodgers signed a massive three-year $150 million contract before the start of the 2022 season and is slated to earn $59.52 million in the coming season so he has a lot to think about.

If not the Packers, then analysts have predicted that the 39-year-old is most likely to play for the Las Vegas Raiders because the team is tacked with weapons and gives him the best shot at winning the Super Bowl. And then there is Davante Admas on the roster so not many reasons to not play there. New York Jets is also in contention but it isn’t likely to happen.

The Packers to choose Jordan Love over Aaron Rodgers

Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst said on Tuesday that the team is in talks with Aaron Rodgers and his team. Gutekunst also added that all options are on the table which means that the Packers are ready to put Jordan Love under center. “We’re excited about him,” he said via ProFootballTalk. “I think I’ve expressed to a lot of people that he needs to play. That’s the next step in his progression. He needs to play. Jordan’s done a great job working hard, so he’s doing everything we’re asking.”

Jordan Love was selected 26th overall by Green Bay in the 2020 NFL draft and has been on the bench for the past three years. The Packers did the same when they drafted Aaron Rodgers who served as backup to Brett Favre for three seasons. Gutenkunst also added that the team drafted Love to eventually have him as their quarterback. Everyone in the Packers camp is really impressed by the progress Love has made as a leader and is confident that he can lead them now.

The 24-year-old quarterback played only 10 games in his three-year career and started in only one of them. The Packers need to put him in now because they can’t bench him for his entire rookie contract. And it is definitely time for Love to show everyone his skills as a quarterback and maybe even Aaron Rodgers knows in the back of his mind that it is time for him to hand over the reins and move on from Green Bay.

Gutenkunst added, “[Love] has probably expressed that he wants to start every season. But yeah, he knows where he’s at. I think he’s eager to play. So, he wants that opportunity and sometimes those things are out of your control like they have been for him the last few years. But I think he’s ready and excited.” All signs are indicating that the Aaron Rodgers era in Green Bay has ended and Jordan Love starting in 2023.

Let’s see what Rodgers decides for his 19th season in the NFL because, by the looks of it, the Packers have already made their decision.
