“They whipped us,” Packers HC Matt LaFleur makes a BRUTALLY honest admission on team’s performance following Titans defeat

The Green Bay Packers‘ season just went from bad to worse after their latest defeat against the Tennessee Titans. Matt LaFleur’s team suffered their seventh defeat of the season with hopes for a playoff spot seeming to be diminishing by the second.

The 27-17 defeat came despite Christian Watson’s inspired performance on the night, combined with Aaron Rodgers. The rookie wide receiver became the first Green Bay Packers rookie to complete multiple touchdowns catches in consecutive games since Max McGee’s feat way back in 1954.

However, all of that wasn’t enough to save them from a defeat as quarterback Aaron Rodgers found it extremely difficult to get going yet again in a Packers shirt, missing numerous passes. The 38-year-old missed easy passes and acknowledged that his performance wasn’t up to the mark.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur shared similar sentiments regarding the whole team’s performance against the Titans during his post-match press conference. LaFleur thought that his team did not turn up for the match, and the manner of the defeat hurt him in particular.

They whipped us in pretty much every phase,” LaFleur said. “We’re disappointed. Give them credit. We didn’t complement each other enough. It’s obviously extremely disappointing, especially coming off a few days ago. To come back and play like that is extremely disappointing.”

I don’t think any of us thought we’d be in this spot, and we are,” LaFleur said. “To have seven losses at this point of the season is extremely disappointing.”

The head coach can hardly be blamed for such an analogy, especially after the Packers played their best game last week, in their win over the mighty Dallas Cowboys. A defeat of this sort to follow up that impressive win obviously stings a bit more than any other normal loss.

A grim look on the face of the head coach said it, and his words perfectly summed up their situation in regard to this particular loss and their disastrous season so far. However, the only positive that they can take right now is the fact that there’s only one way from here, and it is onwards and upwards.
