“I’m an aggressive competitor,” Panthers QB Baker Mayfield denies saying expletives to the Cleveland Browns ahead of their Week 1 clash
Baker Mayfield
Carolina Panthers QB Baker Mayfield has been the centre of commotion in the NFL. After a pre-season win against the Buffalo Bills, Mayfield Allegedly told sideline reporter Cynthia Frelund that he is gonna “f*** them up,” referring to his matchup with his former team the Cleveland Browns. Sometimes trash-talking goes a bit too far and this was certainly one of those times as this statement infuriated the Browns fanbase very much.
The Carolina Panthers quarterback provided his perspective on the matter the next day. It transpires that he did not declare his intention to “f*** them up.” On Sept. 11, they faced off against Carolina as his old Cleveland Browns.

Baker Mayfield is all set to take on his former side on the first week of the regular season
First of all, Baker Mayfield told reporters, “I didn’t say it. Naturally, everyone will create the stories they wish to. I’ve played a part in its history over the past four years. I’m a really aggressive competitor. Everyone is aware of that. Being the quarterback here would be a serious problem if I didn’t want to win.”
This caused a stir on social media because apparently, it’s inappropriate for an NFL quarterback to “f***” destroy a team he formerly played for. When word reached the Browns’ locker room, Myles Garrett, an All-Pro defensive end and former comrade replied. Even he was powerless to express displeasure.
So what was actually said? I doubt we’ll ever find out. We currently only have conflicting accounts. Is it really a huge issue if Mayfield decides to “f***” the Browns up in the end?
