Former Indianapolis Colts punter and media personality Pat McAfee is not worried about the lawsuit by Brett Favre. The Packers legend Brett Favre is reportedly suing Pat McAfee, former Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe and also the Mississippi state auditor Shad White. Favre alleges that the three people have damaged his reputation and character with baseless allegations.
All three people that are being sued allegedly accused Favre of intentionally stealing more than $1 million from the poor people of Mississippi. After the allegations, Favre repaid $1.5 million in two installments, however, the Mississippi Department of Human Resources has also demanded $5 million regarding a different scam by the 11-time Pro Bowler.
The department accused the former Super Bowl Champion of building a volleyball arena for his alma mater, the University of Southern Mississippi, using the anti-poverty funds. Amidst all this, a spokesperson to the 3-time league MVP has revealed that Favre is suing the former NFL players and the auditor.
“Shad White has done a disservice to the people of Mississippi,” Favre’s spokesperson told. “Here is some free advice for Shad White: do what state auditors are supposed to do… fix the state’s failure to have controls in place to ensure that it properly safeguards the taxpayers’ money, not smear the reputations of private citizens to serve his own personal and political ambitions.“
Pat McAfee is not worried about Brett Favre’s lawsuits
The former Colts punter turned media personality Pat McAfee has said that he’s not worried or scared about the defamation lawsuit and will meet the former Packers QB in court.
“I’m getting sued by Brett Favre,” the former Colts punter said. “I’m getting sued alongside Shannon Sharpe and an auditor from Mississippi by Brett f**king Favre, Brett Favre’s suing me in a defamation lawsuit, saying I defamed his name to try to earn a profit.”
Furthermore, he also revealed that he was warned by Favre’s attorney to delete all the videos regarding the former All-Pro QB. “First letter was, ‘We would like you to go back and erase every single video that has Brett Favre’s name mentioned in it from your YouTube library, your Twitter library, and everything else,’” he said. “So I looked at that and said, ‘That is hilarious! Of course, we’re not doing that.’”
McAfee then went on to say that he doesn’t have a lawyer yet but will meet Favre in court instead of deleting the videos. “A lot of people are wondering how my lawyers are gonna handle this,” McAfee said. “You know it, I ain’t got ’em, so let’s ride this f**ker, I’m excited to see how it goes I’ll see you in court pal.”
The former All-Pro punter for the Colts also revealed that he was only reporting the news that was already out there and that he was careful to use the word “allegedly” whenever he reported the news. Although it looks like Favre will take McAfee to the court and only time will tell what happens after that.
