Aaron Rodgers‘ Achilles injury is a hot topic right now. Less because the superstar sustained it, but more because he might return from that injury to play football by the end of this season. If Rodgers manages to accomplish that feat, it will be one of the most shocking return-from-injury stories ever. The New York Jets‘ signal-caller was throwing footballs before the Jets’ week 6 game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
People have been left aghast by the act of Rodgers walking around and throwing football without crutches. Analysts on various shows have been talking about Rodgers being an attention seeker and that this act of his will only worsen the injury. Pat McAfee, former NFL player and current ESPN analyst, however, has shown support for Rodgers who makes an appearance every week on his The Pat McAfee Show.
“The plan is like, ‘Hey, whatever timetable everyone has, is not for us.’ He said he didn’t want to go back into the New York Jets building until he could walk into the building.” McAfee said on the ESPN’s First Take Show. “He thought it was symbolic. He didn’t want his teammates to see him rolling around. He wanted his teammates to see him when he was doing his thing.” He concluded by saying, “If he’s able to accomplish this, it’d be one of the most ridiculous things to ever happen in modern medicine and obviously in football.”
Rodgers’ return will be a massive boost for the Jets and they will hope to get into the playoffs this season. Rodgers signed with the Jets this offseason after spending 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers. He will hope to win a title with the Jets.

Pat McAfee stunned by the visuals of Aaron Rodgers throwing football
Aaron Rodgers’ sensational act of throwing football before the game between the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles has left Pat McAfee stunned. He talked about it on his show on Monday.
“Just 34 days after surgery he’s already back on the field throwing?” McAfee said on the Pat McAfee Show. “This dude has had the thought of returning this season. I know other people have said he’s had the same thoughts. He’s not putting timelines on anything but I don’t think you’re supposed to be able to do THAT after tearing your Achilles. Congrats to him for getting after it.”
The Jets will play their next game against the New York Giants next Sunday. Rodgers will hope that his team reaches the playoffs so that he can come back and work his magic in the postseason.
