The New York Jets keep losing even when they win. During week 1 of the 2023 NFL season, the Jets caused an upset by defeating the Josh Allen-led Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football game. However, the bigger picture of the story was Aaron Rodgers‘ leg injury which is expected to keep him on the sidelines for the rest of the 2023 season. After Rodgers’ injury, the Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes sent out a tweet to show support for the Jets leader but he made an unfortunate error in his post.
“Hate that man… Praying for the best,” wrote Mahomes in his message following Rodgers’ injury. Social media was quick to point out Mahomes’ mistake of missing a comma making the message look like Mahomes hating on Aaron Rodgers. The Chiefs QB later edited his message to the correct form. But his mistake lives on the Internet forever.
“Hate that, man… Praying for the best,” wrote the Chiefs signal-caller in the edited version. Patrick Mahomes saw the humor in his mistake and made a joke about how he knew the edit option that he pays for, would be useful one day. “Knew I was going to need that edit button on here one of these days,” wrote Mahomes with a laughing emoji.
Rodgers suffered a leg injury just 4 minutes after making his much-anticipated Jets debut. He suffered an injury in the first quarter after he was sacked by the Bills linebacker Leonard Floyd. In Rodgers’ absence, the Jets’ second-string QB Zach Wilson took over and led the New York-based football team to a massive victory against the defending AFC East Champions Bills.

Zach Wilson is expected to replace Aaron Rodgers

Now that Aaron Rodgers has suffered a major injury, the Jets are expected to roll with the young quarterback Zach Wilson as their starter for the rest of the ongoing season.
Rodgers is suspected to have suffered a ruptured Achilles and many speculated it could even be the end of the road for the 39-year-old QB in the NFL. However, the official status of his injury will only be revealed after an MRI scan on Monday.
Even if it’s not a major injury, Rodgers is still expected to miss the next few weeks. And the Jets have a tough stretch of games ahead of them. The Jets will face the Dallas Cowboys, the New England Patriots, and the Chiefs in their next 3 games. Without Rodgers, the Jets will find it tough to win against those teams.
