Patrick Mahomes celebrates Lionel Messi’s WILD game-winning first goal for Inter Miami

The Argentinian soccer superstar Lionel Messi made his Major League Soccer debut with his new team, Inter Miami, on Friday night. His debut couldn’t have had a better script as he managed to score a last-minute game-winning goal against Liga MX team Cruz Azul. Messi’s magic was witnessed by plenty of fans across the world and one among them was the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“Wild man! [GOAT emoji],” wrote Mahomes on his Twitter profile while quote-tweeting the video clip of Messi’s game-winner. The World Cup-winning forward made his presence felt in an electric fashion.

Along with the Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes, plenty of other celebrities got to witness the soccer GOAT in action for the first time. Some of them had front-row seats at the DRV PNK Stadium to see Messi in Inter Miami’s jersey. NBA legend LeBron James, Tennis star Serena Williams, and reality TV star Kim Kardashian were all in the stadium for Messi’s MLS debut.

A few weeks ago, the 36-year-old announced that he would be joining Inter Miami following his brief stint with Paris Saint-Germain for the last couple of years. Messi signed a multi-year deal with the Miami-based soccer franchise worth $50-$60 million per year. Additionally, he will also receive certain amount from Apple’s MLS subscriptions.

Last year, the former Barcelona star led his national team Argentina to a World Cup victory in Qatar and now he’s scoring game-winners for his new club at 36 years old. It’s fair to say he is not slowing down anytime soon.

Lionel Messi aces a last-minute game winner for his new club Inter Miami

The soccer star Lionel Messi made his much anticipated Inter Miami debut against Liga MX team Cruz Azul on Friday night. His debut has surpassed the hype it created and was a treat to the fans.

During the final minutes of the game, when both teams were tied 1-1, Messi was fouled just a few yards away from the penalty box. This led to Inter Miami getting a free kick just a few feet away from the goal post.

And when the game was on the line, Messi seized the moment and hit a sensational goal in the final few seconds. With that goal, Inter Miami won the game 2-1. The 36-year-old came off the bench at the 51-minute mark with a thunderous applause when Inter Miami was leading 1-0, but Cruz Azul managed to tie the game just 10 minutes after Messi’s debut.

In the end, Messi, just like plenty of times in his career, managed to nail a free kick and once again made his fans happy at a crucial stage in the game. Nearly 22,000 fans were in the stadium to see Messi’s debut game for the MLS franchise.
