The reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs hosted the Detroit Lions on week 1 of the 2023 NFL season. The Chiefs unveiled their Super Bowl LVII banner before the start of the game. Although the team lost its opener against the Lions, fans at Arrowhead Stadium experienced a once-in-a-lifetime plane flyover before the kickoff.
During the National Anthem, a B-2 flew over the stadium giving fans the ultimate experience of witnessing the rare plane. The B-2 is one of the most technically advanced planes ever made. It is also the most expensive plane in the world and costs around $2 billion and it’s wingspan covers almost the half of a football field.
The B-2 has the capability of carrying 16 nuclear bombs and can reach anywhere in the world in hours. Fans at the stadium could not believe they were witnessing the plane and captured the moment in their phones. There are only 21 B-2 planes in the world and their stealth abilities are far beyond what we usually see with flyovers. Moreover, they have weapon’s storage and speed that outclass even the most modern technology.
The Chiefs eventually lost the game 21-20 but this moment will be fond memory for everyone present in the stadium. They will play their next game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 17 and will hope to bounce back from this tough loss.

The Kansas City Chiefs entered the Arrowhead Stadium as the favorites against the upstart Detroit Lions in their Week 1 matchup. However, they suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of the Lions and saw their perfect Week 1 record under Patrick Mahomes disappear.
Although the Chiefs played without two of their best players, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones, they still had Mahomes. He tried his best all night, but his pass-catching group dropped several catchable passes on the night, one resulting in a pick 6 which eventually tied the game.
Mahomes completed 21 of his 39 pass attempts and finished the game with 226 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The Chiefs, under Mahomes, had a perfect record in their opening games before Thursday. They were 5-0 and Mahomes had a passer rating of 136.9 with 18 TDs and 0 INTs. This was Mahomes’ first career Week 1 loss. They will be expected to bounce back against the Jacksonville Jaguars in their next game on September 17.
