Patrick’s father, Pat Mahomes wanted his son to be a professional baseball player instead of an NFL star. The NFL MVP winner used to play 3 sports in High School and could have made pro in any one of them, such was his ability.

His father believes that he is able to cultivate his football game with the help of all the 3 sports he has played in college. He was a versatile guard on the basketball team and a pitcher on the baseball team with one of the strongest arms in Texas Tech.

“You can tell by the way Patrick plays quarterback that he took pieces of his basketball, the jump throws and no-look passes, and pieces of his baseball, the different arm angles, and he put it all together in a package in football,” Patrick Mahomes father stated. “I think a lot of that has to do with him playing all those different sports.”
