Patrick Mahomes defends his ‘Dad Bod’ as social media epically trolls Chiefs QB’s shirtless speech post AFC Championship win
Mahomes better cut down on Kansas BBQ for a short while.

Patrick Mahomes is arguably the best quarterback in the NFL. Football fans have a pre-established image that when the best takes off his shirt, he will have a Captain America-like physique—with massive chests and abs.
Unfortunately, a few heads dropped and jaws were left wide open when a recent clip of Mahomes went viral on social media. It was a video of the Kansas City Chiefs locker room following their AFC Championship win on Sunday night.
Heads up because the video is not exactly what everyone hoped for—certainly not the Mahomies who drool over the two-time Super Bowl winner. The ‘Inside the NFL’ crew shared a video where Mahomes can be seen shirtless, celebrating with his Chiefs teammates.
Shortly after, head coach Andy Reid was chatting with the 28-year-old quarterback. However, it wasn’t the conversation that viewers focused on, but rather Mahomes mid-region, or, to be precise, his semi-bloated belly—the ‘dad bod’.
It even caught the Mahomes’ attention. It is fair to say he was a bit embarrassed about the ordeal, but he owned it like a champ, sharing a tweet.
Yoooo, why they have to do me like that?Mahomes reacted with several smiley emojis.
Then he poked fun at himself.
Like I got kids!
Now, whether he was talking about being pregnant or not, there is no guarantee. It could easily be that he would feel embarrassed if his kids Sterling and Bronze saw him with the ‘peak male’ physique.
Antonio Brown trolled Patrick Mahomes’ ‘dad bod’
Quarterbacks come in several shapes and sizes. From 6 foot 6 Trevor Lawrence and Josh Allen of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills to Arizona Cardinals 5 foot 10 pocket rocket Kyler Murray. Size does play a part in pro football, but it’s not the be-all-or-end-all. Skill matters the most, which also varies from player to player.
Pittsburgh Steelers legend Ben Rothlisberger weighed more than 240 pounds when he became the Super Bowl winner for the second time in 2008. That doesn’t mean his former teammate Antonio Brown would pass off the opportunity to take a jab at Mahomes for showcasing his ‘dad bod.’

Brown may be onto something with this one. Kansas City BBQ is one of the best, but does the two-time NFL MVP really do that much to get belly-aching like that? Here’s what Leslie Bonci, the official Kansas City Chiefs’ nutritionist, told Bet Kansas in December 2023.
Pat Mahomes eat at the most 3,000 calories a day, and not everyone eats five times a day like Pat.Bonci said.
The average American eats roughly 3,600 calories per day. So Mahomes consumes less than an average American.
