Great athletes are often known for following a set of practices that have no direct impact on the game. These practices are often considered ridiculous or superstitious by people; however, athletes give little importance to what other people think.

One is aware of the University shorts that Michael Jordan used to wear or the shower sandals that Serena Williams used to bring to the court. They believed that these practices lead to an important role in their performances on the field.

The Bona Fide star of the NFL, Patrick Mahomes, is no exception to this reality. He also follows some habits that might seem ridiculous to people. His association with his red underwear became the talk of the town after Mahomes shared his habit in the Netflix documentary, ‘Quarterback.’

Since the Kansas City Chiefs are having a bye, the QB had enough time to appear on Football ‘Manningcast’. The hosts, Peyton and Eli Manning, asked him about the underwear segment from the documentary and he answered them in style. 

Well, you know, first my wife, Brittany, got them for me. So, I’m not throwing you all down but I have to wear them, you know. But, at the same time, I threw them on the first season. We had a pretty good season that season. I only wear them for game day, though.

Patrick Mahomes has won everything that any football player could aspire for. The Chiefs QB has changed the dynamics of the league ever since he appeared. The two-time Super Bowl winner won two MVP awards. Even this season, despite a slow start, he has come back to his usual form and presently he is on the top among the quarterbacks.

Since Patrick Mahomes is closely inclined to his underwear, it is expected that he will take care of his underwear. And he admitted of that. The QB shared that he washes his underwear regularly.

They’re not too worn down like nasty. I clean them. I wash them every once in a while at least. If we’re on a hot streak, I can’t wash ‘em, like I just gotta keep it rolling. As long as we’re winning football games, I’ll keep the superstition going.

Before going to the bye week, the Chiefs beat the Miami Dolphins 21-14. They are presently up by 7-2 and are seeking to grab the playoff spot in some style.
