Patrick Mahomes faces yet another ‘psychological’ setback as Drake places $700k bet on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl

Not everything is going ideally for the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of the all-important Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, with a bad omen looming over their head. Iconic rapper Drake has placed a massive $700k bet on the Chiefs’ victory and if his track record is to be believed, the Chiefs are going to lose the Super Bowl to the Eagles.
Drake is a huge sports fanatic and is well-versed in sporting activities going on around the globe- especially in the USA. He often bets on big sporting events, but has a terrible track record with his bets over the years. He took to Instagram to share that he has placed a $700k bet on Patrick Mahomes‘ Chiefs’ victory. This makes things even worse for the Chiefs, as they were already suffering from the “passing yards” curse.
In the regular season, Mahomes led the league in passing yards and in the process, became only the 7th QB to reach the Super Bowl as the stats leader. Interestingly, each of the six previous QBs, including Tom Brady, has gone on to lose the Super Bowl. With this curse, the Drake jinx only makes things difficult for the Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Not only in the NFL, but the ‘Drake curse’ has worked pretty well in the last few years in soccer and NBA very well. Be it his prediction of the Golden State Warriors winning the NBA Championships in 2016, or him meeting many soccer stars which followed their team losing the next day, the ‘Drake curse’ never fails to deliver.

NFL Twitter reacts to Drake placing a bet on a Chiefs victory
Fans on Twitter had mixed reactions to Drake placing such a massive bet. While most of the fans were convinced that Drake’s bet means Eagles’ victory in the Super Bowl, others hilariously sympathized with Chiefs fans.
On February 12, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will meet in Super Bowl LVII in Arizona’s Phoenix Stadium. Popstar Rihanna will perform in the halftime show as two of the best QBs in the league- Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts battle for glory.
