It appears that the Tom Brady era has returned in the NFL, but now the star is Patrick Mahomes. As the Kansas City Chiefs qualified for four of the last five Super Bowl appearances, it’s obvious other fanbases would feel envious of them. However, that doesn’t bother the Chiefs.

The Chiefs’ star quarterback has accepted the hatred that comes with success, and he doesn’t mind being the villain.

In a recent conversation with ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, Mahomes discussed the hatred his team has received and also recalled that the NFL legend faced the same with the New England Patriots

I can definitely sense it. I never felt like that because I've never been like that in my entire life. I don't want to say you enjoy it. I know the Patriots had that for a while. I'm hoping we do it in a different way with a little bit more fun and personality with it. But as long as you keep winning, teams start to not like you, and I want to keep winning.
Mahomes said.

The reigning Super Bowl MVP asserted that he has accepted the fact that, with his and his team’s success, other teams and fanbases are not going to like them. Though he knows he’s not going to be a bad example, he can certainly be the “villain” that the Chiefs need.

I'll try to still have a smile on my face and not be a bad example, but I can be that villain for them if they need me to be.

Patrick Mahomes chases Tom Brady’s Super Bowl legacy

Having his idol in Tom Brady, the Chiefs QB isn’t going to rest until he wins seven or more Super Bowl rings. Though it’s not confirmed whether it’s an explicit goal of the elite QB, he is determined to win every year that he plays as a starter.

This coming weekend, Mahomes is going for his third Super Bowl ring against the San Francisco 49ers. By winning so, he would at least get nearly half of Brady’s total count, and that itself seems an achievement.

With that being said, his current focus is on the Niners and preparing his strategy to give them their second Super Bowl loss against the Chiefs.
