“Job’s not done!” Patrick Mahomes remains focused even after making it to 4th Super Bowl in six years after beating Ravens in the AFC Championship game

Since 2005, no team has ever won two Super Bowls back to back.

Looks like Patrick Mahomes isn’t going to rest until he leads his team to their second consecutive Super Bowl victory. After the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the top-seeded AFC team in the conference championship, they advanced to the final battle of the season, Super Bowl LVIII – their fourth one in five years.

Quarterback Mahomes already holds the title of an elite quarterback and a win in the Super Bowl on February 11th, will take him near Tom Brady’s standard. Given that, no other team other than Brady’s New England Patriots has ever won two Super Bowls back to back since 2005.

Despite having the odds against them, the Chiefs came through and claimed triumph over their sixth AFC championship title in a row. But when the reigning Super Bowl MVP was asked about the prominent accomplishment, he didn’t appear too eager to celebrate it just yet.

It's been a heck of a year, we're not done yet. We've been underdogs the last few games but we never feel like underdogs. We've got a lot of guys on this team that know how to win.
Mahomes asserted.

This season’s Super Bowl is counted on to be the splashiest football game and the Chiefs are surely ready to put on a solid show for everyone to see. As QB Mahomes added,

When the playoffs came around we were going to make it happen and now we're in the Super Bowl the job's not done.

How Patrick Mahomes outshone his peers in the postseason

With the sixth straight appearance in notable conference championships, the Chiefs star quarterback sure has established his playoff dominance. Though quarterback Lamar Jackson had the better QBR of 64.5 against Mahomes’s 63 in the regular season, the latter outperformed the former at a dazzling victory of 17-10.

Unfortunately for Jackson, he now joined the 12 prominent quarterbacks who had experienced Mahomes’ playoff dominance, whether it be the Super Bowl or its prerequisite matches.

Despite having a slow season that almost put the Chiefs’ playoff berth in jeopardy, the team really pulled their game together as they entered the postseason. From the wild-card game to the AFC Championship, Mahomes had defeated Tua Tagovailoa in the wild-card round, Josh Allen in the divisional, and now Jackson in the conference.
