Super Bowl Opening Night on Monday finally kicked off the world championship festivities in Arizona. Players and coaches from NFC Champs Philadelphia Eagles and AFC Champs Kansas City Chiefs were present and were asked bucketloads of questions as both the teams head into the biggest and most important game of the season.

The questions asked got really weird at one point in the night. For example, Philly’s head coach, Nick Sirianni, was asked which Eagles player he wouldn’t let his daughter date. Sirianni’s daughter is five years old! What would make someone ask this question? It really doesn’t make any sense.

Still, there were some unique questions asked to both teams on how they were planning to counter the other in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs have been great the entire season, but they are yet to face someone really physical like the Eagles. Moreover, the Eagles look strong going heading into the game, seeing as how they are favorites to win. The Chiefs haven’t missed their former star receiver Tyreek Hill, but maybe they might, with Kelce being doubled on every play of the game and the rest receiver either being injured or questionable to play on Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes jokes he would’ve been a better tight end than Travis Kelce

Mahomes had fun during the Super Bowl Media Day. During the festivities, he visited Cooper Manning, the elder brother of former star quarterbacks, Peyton and Eli. Cooper was wearing an entire cowboy outfit and looking really dashing and being a Texas native, Mahomes couldn’t help but talk about it. During the conversation, they talked about Cooper’s cowboy boots and the 27-year-old promised him that he would drink beer from Cooper’s boot if the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. A Shoey celebration in the NFL! That’ll be a first.

In a segment of the media reporters, the Super Bowl LIV MVP was asked which position he would play if not quarterback. Mahomes’ reply was witty and had the reporters chuckling for a minute. He said, “I would probably play tight end and I’d definitely be better than Travis.” Mahomes and Travis Kelce share a similar bond to Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, who were the most feared QB-TE duo in the league for 11 years.

Travis Kelce and Mahomes are the focal points of the Chiefs’ offense and have consistently proven themselves to be the best at what they do. But in all honesty, there is no way Mahomes can be better at the tight end than Travis. Kelce is considered one of the greatest tight ends of all time because of his ability to be a stellar receiver and also a blocker. The 33-year-old has seven back-to-back 1000 yards per season and is leading the league in receiving yards (1,338) for tight ends.

Still, it would be funny to watch the secondary eat Mahomes up as a tight end. With all the injuries in Kansas City’s camp, let’s hope it doesn’t come down to the quarterback really playing at tight end. Nonetheless, Super Bowl LVII will be a nail-biting and high-scoring matchup that will be remembered for years to come!
