With big money, comes big expectations and Mahomes will be looking to lift the Lombardi Trophy yet again next season.
The 27-year-old QB recently shared his desire to compete for the Super Bowl next season and believes motivation is a strong factor to succeed on the biggest stage in NFL. “Everybody’s motivated by that,” Patrick Mahomes stated. “You should be motivated to do it again. When you have that parade, when you go through the offseason that I’ve been through, you want to do it again.”
The Chiefs provided a massive upset to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl final where Mahomes played with an injured ankle and still gave an MVP-level performance. However, now Mahomes has completely recovered from his ankle injury and is looking forward to training with his team as the offseason comes to an end. Patrick Mahomes wants the Chiefs to get better every week
The Chiefs are easily the best team in the league currently. However, the growing competition in the AFC has made Patrick Mahomes really careful about the preparation next season.
Mahomes understands the danger of being complacent and his team to be motivated to get better every single week. Only with that mentality they will be able to win consecutive Super Bowl. Something, which has always been a rarity in the NFL.
“This time I think I’m going to try to really push and motivate guys to continue to try to get better even though we’re winning football games,” Patrick Mahomes said. “Let’s not be satisfied with just winning [but also] finding ways to get better every single week.”
As the Chiefs gear up for another successful season, Patrick Mahomes will be back in training soon and retain his mantle of the best QB in the NFL.
