Patriots HC Bill Belichick breaks up with longtime girlfriend Linda Holliday days before New England’s first game

Bad news for the New England Patriots fans. Ahead of their clash against the NFC North Divison champions the Philadelphia Eagles, Bill Belichick ended his long-term relationship with his girlfriend Linda Holliday. The two had been together since the year 2007 after Belichick had a divorce with his wife Debby Clarke. The news came as a shock to the fans of the Patriots who were hoping for a Belichick masterclass against the Eagles.
According to a report by Page Six, Belichick and Holiday had been “involved in a drawn-out, back-and-forth breakup for nearly a year.” However, despite breaking up with the coach, Holiday is not planning to move out of Nantucket Island in Massachusetts as she is in love with the area. She can take a new home or can stay at the same home with Belichick.
Apart from being in a personal relationship, both share some business interests as well. Holiday is the executive director of the Belichick Foundation. Nonetheless, the business relationship has also been subjected to multiple controversies as Holiday shared a few things about the Foundation on his social media. Multiple reports confirmed that the company officials are in a tense situation regarding their business future. The company may go through some changes in their shareholding patterns.
The Patriots’ team management denied making any comments over the issue to Fox Sports. A representative of the Belchichk Foundation also did not comment anything on the ongoing scenario.
How the Patriots are gearing up for the latest season?
The New England Patriots share the combined record of winning the most number of Super Bowls along with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Belichick himself has eight Super Bowl championships. Considering their track records analysts and fans can always bet on them as possible Super Bowl winners.
The last year did not go well for them. They finished the season with a record of 8-9-0. Their last Super Bowl came in 2019. Hence, after four years, it is expected that the team will go all-out to clinch the Super Bowl title. However, the team did not have a great result in the preseason games as they won one and lost two games.
Belchichk is presently focussing on his NFL journey. The New England Patriots will be facing the Philadelphia Eagles in their first game on September 10. Both teams are gearing up for the high-voltage clash.
