Last week, Metcalf was being covered by Cam Taylor-Britt and when a play didn’t go well he pushed down the Bengals defender to the ground.

DK Metcalf, the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver, has a problem. His harsh plays often lead to penalties for the opponent teams and the Seahawks suffer.

In a recent game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Metcalf was frustrated with the offensive play and expressed that with taking a cheap shot at the Bengals’ cornerback Cam Taylor Britt. The video went viral, and the netizens slammed him for being harsh unnecessarily.

This is not the first time Metcalf has been in this position. It has become a habit for him to draw unnecessary penalty flags. The announcer, when the incident with the Bengals CB took place, said:

This is something they (Seahawks) have been working with DK Metcalf. He accumulates way too many penalties out of frustration.

DK Metcalf is causing problems for the Seahawks. But has his team mentioned this to him? Coach Pete Carroll admitted that the WR is aware of the problems, as the team has already spoken to him in this regard.

He’s getting called. He knows. He’s got to clean it up and we have to make sure that we’re aware of how they’re calling stuff--He knows it and he’s got to get it done.
Carroll told reporters on Wednesday

During a period when Metcalf appeared resistant to changing his playing style that often resulted in penalties, it seems that Carroll has successfully communicated with him. When questioned by reporters on Friday about whether Metcalf has understood the message, Carroll said:

He knows. He knows.

If the team has really spoken to him over his gameplay, then the player needs to be cautious. His rough playing can become expensive for him and that can have major consequences. The Seahawks WR is not having a bad season this year. He has played five games so far and has registered 22 receives for 337 yards.

In addition to this, the WR had two touchdowns. The Seahawks heavily rely on him and do not want him to be suspended. In this case, if he does not improve his mentality then it can cause some big problems in the coming days.

The Seattle Seahawks’ are having a mixbag of a season

The Seahawks did not get a winning start this season. They lost their first game against the Los Angeles Rams. However, they made a staunch comeback by winning their next three games. Their last encounter against the Cincinnati Bengals did not go well, as they lost a close encounter by a margin of 17-13.

In the next game, the Seahawks are going to face the weak Arizona Cardinals who lost their five games and won just one. It is to be seen whether they win the game and strengthen their foothold.
