“Aaron Donald’s going to kill him”: NFL fans react to 70-year-old Pete Carroll playing QB at practice

The Seattle Seahawks are far from a Super Bowl contender this season, the team would be lucky if they do not end up with one of the worst records in the entire NFL after losing their Pro Bowl and Hall of Fame quarterback Russell Wilson and a skilled linebacker in Bobby Wagner. Head Coach Pete Carroll faces one of his toughest challenges to date as he has to lead a team that has yet to declare its starting quarterback for the entire 2022 NFL season despite the preseason almost coming to an end.

Geno Smith and Drew Lock are the two options the Seattle Seahawks have at the QB position, both of them are far from ideal for any team to be in the starter’s role but sometimes, we have to make the best out of the hand we are dealt with. Drew Lock is currently ineligible to play as he tested positive for COVID just as the preseason began, Geno Smith has been getting all the reps and is the only QB for Seattle but that was not the case at the team’s practice on Thursday as something rather unexpected happened.

Pete Carroll literally decided to take matters into his own hands at the Seattle Seahawks practice:

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll decided to step onto the field himself and he played the quarterback position for a couple of snaps, not only was the entire coaching staff and team shocked at what they were witnessing but so were fans across the league! Keep in mind that Carroll is 70 years, and he really deserves some credit for moving better than Tom Brady out there in the huddle. This is not the first time Pete has played quarterback.

The Head Coach played football when he attended Redwood High School in California, at the time, he played quarterback, wide receiver, and defensive back, not bad Pete, could never imagine him being a DB out there! It has been a while since he threw the ball and you could tell that but he does get points for trying.

We cannot really blame him for stepping out there himself, given the team’s quarterback situation, it has to be stressful for him and the fans. Pete is definitely a go-getter because it appears the HC decided enough is enough, I’m going to go out there personally and take charge! Fans loved this move by Carroll and had some hilarious reactions to his plays!

Guess Pete’s never going to hear the end of that incident.

There it is yet again. Let it go Seattle fans, Tom Brady retired and unretired, Russell Wilson left the team, and everyone’s moved on except for Seahawks fans.

Lacks mobility? He moves faster than 90% of the quarterbacks who played in the NFL two decades ago.

Bet Pete Carroll is happy knowing that Donald could be suspended for a while.

Geno isn’t that bad, it’s his season this year!

He really may have to, did anyone tell Pete that Jimmy G is available now?

Carroll X Metcalf connection would be special.

For Seahawks fans, yes.

The Falcons have Marcus Mariotta and the Giants have Danny Dimes, Seattle has got to be in a better situation than those teams.

Jokes apart, it is INSANE that he is able to do this at 70, the next morning was probably not as fun with his entire body being sore.

We all need an Uncle Pete in our lives.

COOK EM’ PETE!

Is Pete going to tackle a corner?
