The NFL 20203-24 regular season went through a lot of coaching changes. The latest to hit the bandwagon is the Seattle Seahawks sacking their HC Pete Carroll after a journey of more than a decade. Carroll, unlike a lot of big names, was successful during his tenure with the Seahawks. He led his team to ten postseasons and won a Super Bowl ring for the 2013 season.
The team almost repeated the same scenario in the very next season when they reached the Super Bowl. The Seahawks had their best time in their history under Carroll.

This season, the team finished with a winning record of 9-8. They had a strong fight in the NFC West Division. Nonetheless, the team failed to make it to the playoffs this year.
While biding adieu to the team, the head coach seemed emotional. He thanked his wife, Glena, for all the contributions she has had in the veteran’s life. While stepping down from his designation, the head coach added,
I’ve been blessed with, like, the rarest of best friends and mentor, loving partner, the angel in my life.Carroll said, fighting back tears.
The football veteran further added:
This is worth crying for. Glena, nobody would ever understand how significant … she’s been through all the stuff we’ve been through. How important she is – she’s just been an angel in my life. I owe you everything.
Pete Carroll married Glena Goranson in 1976. Goranson is his second wife. The veteran HC was married to Wendy Pearl earlier, but they got divorced in 1975. A year later, Carrol married Glena.
Carroll’s coaching career took off with the New York Jets, where he provided a 6-10 record and stayed only for one year. After coaching a few seasons for the New England Patriots, Carroll returned to college football where he made the USC Trojans a powerhouse with back-to-back conference titles. He later got a call from the Seahawks.
Why the Seahawks fired the most successful coach in their history?
Amid all the emotional turbulence, an important question is circulating in the air. Why did the Seahawks’ management decide to sack Carroll from the HC position? There is hardly any doubt that Carroll gave the Seahawks the identity that they lagged.
Despite the success, the Seahawks’ performance in the last three years declined drastically. Their defensive performance drastically fell and the offense also underperformed.

The Seahawks had only 25 wins against 26 losses. It also included a wild card loss, the only playoff appearance that the team made in the last three seasons.
With the growing discomfort, the Seahawks owner decided to change Carroll’s role as the team’s. The decision met with grievances from fans on social media. Carroll is now an advisor and executive vice president for the Seahawks.
