ESPN has been a broadcasting giant in the USA for a long time. In an effort to meet the fiscal goals this year and beyond, the network let go of more than 20 on-air personalities including a few of the more renowned pundits, analysts, and journalists on the network, according to reports. NFL analysts Suzy Kolber, Keyshawn Johnson and Steve Young were among them.

Kolber took to Twitter to voice out her disappointment after the firing and said “So grateful for a 38[-year] career, longevity for a woman in this business is something I’m especially proud of. Next step – a project that gives back.” She said her layoff was “heartbreaking, but 27 years at ESPN was a good run”

Disney, who owns a majority of ESPN, recently completed letting go of 7,000 workers. Separate from ESPN’s employment cuts, Disney’s layoffs were intended to save more than $5 billion as streaming revenue growth stalled, among other things. There were questions about ESPN’s lay off but they have retained some prominent figures in the media industry.
