The former Dallas Cowboys DB Deion Sanders is one of the best defensive players of all time. The 6-time All-Pro defensive back used to lock down the wide receivers during his time in the big league. Now he’s the head coach of the Colorado Rockies football team in NCAA Division 1 and he wants his college recruiters to find talents like the Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

“Primetime” Deion Sanders sat with Sports Illustrated for their radio show ahead of the Super Bowl on Thursday, where he was asked about whether he thinks he could lock down the new generation’s wide receivers like the Vikings star Justin Jefferson. To which he answered that it’s not fair for these young wide receivers to be compared with him yet.

“You can’t do that to these guys because you comparing a monument to a moment, I don’t do that present with the past,” said Deion Sanders about people comparing young talents with him.

However, he revealed that he would love to have guys with the talents of Justin Jefferson. “I want these guys to have their time and they have their moments and they doing a wonderful job, I love ’em, as a matter of fact, I tell our coaches (to) recruit a guy like that, find me one of those, find me a Justin Jefferson please,” said Sanders.

The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is one of the best young wideouts currently playing in the league. The LSU product has already been to 3 Pro Bowls and has been named to the All-Pro team this season.

The third-year quarterback took over the league by storm in his very first year as he broke the then-rookie records and made a trip to the Pro Bowl. He has only improved since then and now has just finished one of the greatest seasons for a wide receiver.

The All-Pro receiver finished the season with 1809 receiving yards in 128 receptions (career best in both categories). He also caught 8 touchdowns and helped the Vikings to win the NFC North division title. Furthermore, he capped the season by winning the Offensive Player of the Year award in NFL honors.

After trading away Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills, the Vikings managed to draft Justin Jefferson and developed him into a great player. Now they will just have to find a way to keep him on their team as long as possible.
