Gypsy-Rose Blanchard broke the internet today when she expressed her desire to meet the global superstar Taylor Swift. She is currently serving a 10-year-long sentence for homicide, after being convicted in 2016.

Swift, who has been dating the NFL tight end for quite some time now, has an enormous fanbase from all across the globe. In fact, since Travis Kelce started dating her, he has witnessed a surge in his merchandise and ticket sales, all thanks to the Swifties. However, no one thought there would be Swiftie in the American prison.

As Blanchard is set to be released on December 28, she has expressed her plan of action to meet the iconic pop star at the upcoming Chiefs game, which Swift is also going to attend just two days after her release.

Although it hasn’t been official that Swift is going to attend the game, it’s a fair prediction as she has been to most of Kelce’s games. TMZ reported the 32-year-old convict hopes to get a glimpse of her icon or even bump into her at the stadium when she attends the game.

However, there’s a possibility that Swift would not be there, and in that case, Blanchard has a plan B. She plans to next move on to Swift’s Eras Tour, scheduled in New Orleans in the fall of 2024.

Blanchard became a die-heart fan of the 12-time Grammy winner after listening to one of her songs, titled “Eyes Open.” This song helped her go through the most difficult phase of her life in prison and deal with the challenges of a young woman.

Why is Taylor Swift’s fan Gypsy-Rose Blanchard serving the prison sentence?

It happened in 2015 when a story gained quite a lot of media coverage surrounding a daughter in the murder trial of her mother. It was of Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, accused of orchestrating the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

After her mother fabricated her daughter’s health issues caused several disproportionate medical treatments and showed her terminally ill, Gypsy-Rose went through an extremely tough early life. In 2015, she made a plan with her then-boyfriend to murder her mother, by stabbing her. In defense, she used to escape the abuse and manipulation caused by her mother.

Her story gained a lot of attention and even led to the creation of documentaries and TV series on the subject of complicated issues of Munchausen syndrome and the effect of childhood trauma. She was sentenced to 10 years in second-degree murder after she pleaded guilty.
